WHORE.

Hello Littl’uns!
So this week I wanted to talk about something important - slut shaming.

So what is slut shaming? Slut shaming is the act of degrading and negatively judging someone (usually a woman) for engaging in frequent sexual activity. However, just because a person enjoys sex, does that make them less worthy? Not at all!
As previously mentioned, women are usually faced with the brunt of slut shaming. Men on the other hand are not usually held to the same standard. Among males it seems more common for a guy to be congratulated and adored the more sex he has. Yet women are sleazy and dirty? That’s not how this should work.
Sex is normal. Treating women differently in this respect only serves to alienate and make them feel like something must be wrong with them. With so many societal pressures already on the way women should look, need we add another on the way they should act? As long as sex is between two single people over the age of eighteen, and consensual, is it the business of anyone else? I personally believe not.

What’s more is often a ladies promiscuity is judged by what they wear. Which of course, is nonsense. Once again, men are allowed to walk around topless with no issue in hot weather, yet girls are shamed for wearing strappy tops and short shorts let alone anything less? So much for equality.
Ladies and gentlemen. If a lady wears a lot of makeup – that tells you nothing about their sexual habits. If she has big boobs – again, nothing. Tight clothing? Once again – nothing!

Please check out the video I made on the issue below, and let me know your thoughts! :)

Lots of love,
Kristi.

  1. I stumbled across your blog to see the title 'whore' and assumed it'd be something to do with shaming somebody for dressing provocatively, but it was the total opposite! It's nice to see some other girls minus myself raising issues like this, I literally filmed a similar video about this topic earlier, so was awesome to see other people are too! xx

    1. Thank you so much for your reply! :)
I think it's important to raise the issue, as it's so kind of - normalised these days. Both men and women just accept this is the way it is without a second thought, and I don't think it should be that way! :) xx

  2. I love that you did a blog post to accompany the video you made - it's such an important issue which more people need to take seriously!
